Maggie has been transferred to Primary Children's. She is now in the NICU over there and was "Life Flighted" across the walkway between the two hospitals. The same thing happened to Davey four years ago when he was born. It sounds so glamorous but really just entails two Life Flight pilots walking Maggie across in a special incubator case thingy. They were able to wheel her over to see Millie before they left the U and the kids had just arrived so the timing was perfect. Maggie seems to be progressing and they will continue to monitor her lungs and breathing in the coming days. We may start to find out more about her ventricles etc. tomorrow but we'll just take it a day at a time. Millie doesn't get any cell service at the U so she hasn't been able to respond to any voicemails or texts. Her pain is being managed and she is doing great. She misses Maggie though, and hopes I can take her over to see her new daughter later tonight.
Josie was reluctant to go to school today. Friday was her "worstest day ever" of kindergarten. According to her account, nobody would play with her at recess. "I would ask different girls but they said they wanted to play with somebody else." Then on the bus ride home, a girl kept pulling her pigtails, sang a mean song making fun of her and yanked her backpack. I asked Josie how she reacted. Her response, "I just sat in the corner." When Matt heard the story he said, "Nobody puts Josie in a corner." Just like Patrick Swayze. I think it's easier to say goodbye to a daughter being wheeled into an operating room than watch her venture into the great unknown of kindergarten. Speaking of surgery, we are still in limbo for Maggie's surgery... ETV-CVF . We are scheduled for this Thursday, but I'll meet with the neurosurgeon on Wednesday and reevaluate whether or not we should proceed. We don't know what to do...
Look at your cute family. I love hearing about your little Maggie. And I love how she was "life flighted" down the hall. Thanks for all the updates.
ReplyDeletewell that was fast! Good job getting her over there. Can't wait for more cute baby pictures:)
ReplyDeleteWe did Life Flight the day JB was born, except it was an ambulance that took him to the other hospital. Makes for an interesting story later, but I think you have enough of those. :) I'm glad they were able to get her transferred. Again, she is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery Good Job and cute baby also...
