17, Number of Destiny

The evidence is too compelling to ignore any longer.  Maggie’s number of destiny is 17.  Consider the following:

·         If you add up the number of letters in Maggie’s full name it equals 17 (if you do the same thing with Millie’s full married name it also equals 17)
·         Maggie is the 17th grandchild on her father’s side (Thanks T!)
·         Maggie was born on the 17th of July
·         Her birth occurred at the 17th minute (10:17)
·         Millie’s recovery room after giving birth was room 2721.  Take the numbers in that room and (2 x 7) + 2 + 1 = 17.
·         Maggie’s first surgery took place on 7/26/12.  (7 x 2) + 6 – 1 – 2 = 17
·         Maggie’s recovery room from that surgery was room 4305.  (4 x 3) + 5 = 17
·         Maggie’s second surgery took place on 8/6/12.  8 + 6 + 1 + 2 = 17
·         Maggie had an MRI and her recovery room was 4307.  (3 x 7) – 4 = 17
·         Maggie’s third surgery took place on 10/4/12.  10 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 17

As far as numbers of destiny go, 17 is a pretty great one to have. Consider the following:

  • There are 17 syllables in a haiku
  • 17 is the only known prime which is equal to the sum of digits of its cube (173 = 4913, and 4 + 9 + 1 + 3 = 17)
  • The Parthenon is 17 columns long
  • Stegosaurus had 17 bony plates on its back
  • A cow's saliva increases by 17% while grazing
  • It takes 17 muscles to produce a smile
Grasping at straws? Obsessed with minutiae? Overactive frontal lobe? Too manysleepless nights dealing with a crying baby and nothing by thoughts of randomnumbers to keep a person company? Perhaps. But at any rate, next time you see a cow, think of a stegosaurus, read a haiku, or smile---think of Maggie.

Miracle baby,
Your eyes tell special stories.
Our Maggie, so loved.

  3. Pretty amazing. Maggie is definitely linked to seventeen. When you are up with a crying baby, you start thinking about all sorts of things, so I can see how you would have come to the conclusion that Maggie's number of destiny is 17. I know Randy will love this post--it is something he would have figured out. Nice work Matt.

  4. Natalie is right. I love this post! This is how I think, too. (It's my secret shame.) Maybe that's why I noticed your 1 (only 1) math error.
